Interlibrary Loan - Book/Item What is it. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for books or other items is a free* service for borrowing physical materials not owned by the UW Libraries, such as books, bound journal volumes, DVDs, audiobooks, microfilm, etc. Use this service after trying UW Libraries collections and Summit.
The Interlibrary Loan unit provides service to the University at Albany’s current students, faculty, staff, and emeritus faculty. Courtesy borrowing privileges, alumni borrowing privileges, and Empire State College borrowing agreements do not include interlibrary loan privileges.
